THE SCIENTIFIC APPROACH TO YOUR SUCCESS
Good science + Accurate Data = Your Success.
Pinnacle Training Systems offers various physiological testing services depending on the information you require. Optimal training needs to be based on precise parameters which cannot be determined by estimation equations or field tests. The services offered by PTS provide laboratory-based assessments of strengths and weaknesses and allow the athlete to focus his or her training program in such a way that will elicit maximum improvements in fitness.
No matter what your sport is, no matter what your fitness goals are - Pinnacle Training Systems has the science, education, and experience to measure your physiological needs, progress, and success! If you are unsure as to what test would best suit your needs, e-mail us!

Maximum Aerobic Testing (MAP)
The MAP test is an incremental test the examines the athlete's heart rate response to an increase in workload. Based on the results, we can predict your anaerobic threshold and can determine your heart rate and power training zones. After the test, a consultation is provided whereby the test results are explained and how to apply the information to your training. This is a cycling test that uses your own bicycle on a lab-calibrated CompuTrainer Pro 3D stationary ergometer. The entire test takes about 1.5 hours including warm-up, cool down and consultation. Follow-up testing on a regular basis provides the athlete feedback as to whether or not their training program is providing them with the physiological adaptations that is required for optimal performance.
COST: $100 (initial); $75 (follow-up)
Lactate Threshold Assessment (LTA)
Determining your lactate threshold has scientifically been shown to be the most consistent predictor of performance in endurance events. The LTA allows us to precisely determine your training zones based on power (cycling), pace (running) or heart rate (cycling and running). This test also provides the athlete with optimal paces for racing. Power, heart rate and/or pace at threshold is also determined. Lactate at threshold and peak power can be used by the athlete to precisely monitor their training. Watts/kg of body weight at threshold is also determined as this is an important assessment of climbing ability. The entire test takes about 1.5 hours including warm-up, cool down and consultation. Follow-up testing on a regular basis provides the athlete feedback as to whether or not their training program is providing them with the physiological adaptations that is required for optimal performance.
COST: $150 (initial); $125 (follow-up)
VO2 Max Testing
Whether you're a weekend warrior or a professional athlete, sound training - based on scientific principles - is the only way to reach your potential and achieve your goals. VO2 Max testing is the essential basis of helping you reach your competitive edge. This type of testing allows us to:
Establish your current cardiovascular fitness level.
Establish heart rate zones needed to set important training parameters.
Determine your anaerobic threshold which provides valuable information upon which to build an individualized program.
Monitor your body's adaption to training.
Ensure you are training at the correct intensity to prevent injuries.
Special discounts are available to groups within a team or club. E-mail info@pinnacletrainingsystems.com for more details.
COST: $200 (initial); $150 (follow-up)
Pedal Stroke Analysis
Our pedal stroke analysis provides useful information about the mechanics of your technique. During an MAP test, the analysis provides a detailed picture of torque production and distribution throughout your pedal stroke with each leg. The data are analyzed and recommendations provided to help address any inefficiency or imbalance. The analysis session should take no more than 1.5 hours including warm up, warm down and consultation, and a full summary of the analysis data is provided.
COST: $125
